GOD IS IN CHARGE
Please help me let go of this situation, giving it in faith and trust to your Divine wisdom and infinite love in order to resolve and heal everything and everyone involved.
Be it mine to look up to thy light, even from afar, even from the depths. Teach me to seek thee, and reveal thyself to me when I seek thee, for I cannot seek thee except thou teach me, nor find thee, except thou reveal thyself. Let me seek thee in longing, let me long for thee in seeking; let me find thee in love, and love thee in finding.
Lord, I acknowledge and I thank thee that thou hast created me in this thine image, in order that I may be mindful of thee, may conceive of thee, and love thee; but that image has been so consumed and wasted away by vices, and obscured by the smoke of wrong–doing, that it cannot achieve that for which it was made, except thou renew it, and create it anew.
I do not endeavor, O Lord, to penetrate thy sublimity, for in no wise do I compare my understanding with that; but I long to understand in some degree thy truth, which my heart believes and loves. For I do not seek to understand that I may believe, but I believe in order to understand. For this also I believe: that unless I believed I should not understand.
Saint Anselm (1033–1109) was from northern Italy but came to Normandy and then to England as Archbishop of Canterbury. In the midst of heavy administrative duties he found time to write philosophical and theological treatises in defense of his faith. This passage appeals directly to the heart and needs no argument. The translation is from David A. Fleming, S.M., ed., The Fire and the Cloud (New York: Paulist Press, 1978).

One God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.
You are omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent. I bask in Your light and love. The universe is Yours. We are Yours. I AM Yours. Bless Your creation. All of us. May we be in your likeness and image everyday and may we humbly serve your purposes. May we follow you wherever You would lead us.
IN JESUS’ NAME I PRAY,
“If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.”
“I” die for you to enter and work through me. “I” want to disappear and be filled up with you. “I” want to know and become one with the “I AM” presence. Let me know you, Father, and walk close with you. This is my prayer.
In Jesus’ Name I pray,
“For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.”
Will/Are you willing to die for Christ? This new covenant I make with you, Jesus, that each day I die unto you. I give you all of me: my body, mind and soul. I turn my will and my life over to you. I allow your way to work through me. Please bless my life. Grant your favor over me and those whom I love and hold dear. Thank you God for loving me first and for giving me new life. You are a great, glorious God. I praise your name and lift you up! Your works are amazing and I am in awe before you, Lord. Each day is a chance to know you better and to serve you. What a blessing!
I pray in Jesus’ name,
A great AA saying! Here.
On my way to giving up cigarettes I think of this a lot. Lately I’ve been giving up one cigarette here and there to cut back. The cigarette I give up gives me time to reflect: why do I want this cigarette? What does this do for me? How does waiting for the cigarette affect me? What tools can I use while waiting? Can I go without two cigarettes in a row? What are my triggers? When do I most crave cigarettes and why?
So I’m looking at my patterns with cigarettes and my relationship with them. I’m also reading my literature and preparing to quit again. This process feels like it’s taking forever but I know it will be worth it. The more I can consider myself a non-smoker, the better. The more prepared I am to quit, the better. The more tools I get into my toolbox for handling stress, triggers and withdrawal, the better.
These are some of the pre-quitting activities you can do at home while you’re considering quitting (see above). It’s a great way to cut back and prepare to quit. I’m only smoking a half a pack a day now but would like to cut back even more before I quit. I do have patches and lozenges on hand for when I am ready to quit. That’s another thing. If you don’t have quit aides, now would be the time to choose which ones you want to use by researching the various aides and picking what’s right for you. I recommend seeing your doctor and discussing what’s best for you. Often your doctor will make a recommendation and most insurances will cover the cost of smoking aides if prescribed by your doctor! If you have the aides on hand, you are all set up to quit when you’re ready.
Keep at it folks, I’m not sure how this will all work out but I’m for sure going to keep the faith and keep trying. Oh, another method I’m using these days is I’m talking to EVERY ex-smoker I can and asking them how they quit. I’m using their advice and methods and taking their suggestions into account in my road to quitting. I would highly recommend asking the ex-smokers around you and in your life how they quit. What was it like? How did they quit? What did they do? What did it feel like? How were the cravings and how did they handle them? I do like a mini-interview with every ex-smoker that will allow me to. I even did one with the security guard on my way to a smoking cessation class! He shared some great advice on leaning on your higher power and giving it all to Source. He also said he made a promise to himself and his higher power one day that he would quit for good and after he made that promise, he never went back to smoking or drinking! Sometimes, having that spiritual connection/awakening really works. What will work for you? Like I said, keep at it. Your health, family and you are totally worth it and you already know that!
I love you for starting to quit smoking. You’re a champ in my book. I truly know how difficult it is. Just know you’re farther along than you think. You are on the road to recovery, the right path to be on!

“I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live.”
You are risen in me everyday. Praise you and your great works on planet Earth. Your mysteriously wonderful Earth walk eases my heart and strengthens my soul. I love you so much and know that you love me too. Thank you, Jesus, for coming home in the first place and for returning soon. I trust in you with all that I am. My faith is strong in you and your teachings. My job is to learn more everyday about you and what you taught. I do this by reading your word, studying it and spending time meditating on it. I can also meditate on you and your life. This helps me to get in touch with my own inner Christ consciousness, the Christ in me. If I am to be more like you, to shine my light as you did, I must first come to know you better, Lord. You will not lead me astray but will teach me your ways. Your promises will be mine as I turn my will and life over to you on a daily basis. Every morning I thank you for another day and ask you how I may be of service to you today. This is a good way to start my day. Jesus, I just want to hold your hand through life and know that you are by my side.
Please help me to help others who need it most. Help me to minister your gospel of truth and love to the weary so that they too may come to know you and everlasting life and love.
Thank you, Father, for all you have provided for me and all you have taught me. I humbly ask that you continue to teach and provide for me, my family and friends and for those who read this passage. Bless us with your grace, mercy, kindness, joy and guidance. Mostly, may we feel your presence within and around us, assuring us that we are safe and loved always. Peace be to all the peacemakers on the planet, knowing that they are your children, indeed, we are all your Divine creations. May we feel our connection deep within us and know that we are never alone.
Help us to process our grief today, Lord, and know that it is only a transition from one stage of life to the next. For, as you have said, we will never die if we believe in you. Help us to truly understand that and feel its lesson, assurance and peace for ourselves and our loved ones and pets.
Bless Mother Earth and heal her, Father, for she is in need of so much love and healing. Teach each of us individually and collectively what we can do to help her heal. Father, there is so much violence in the world. Today I pray that you would help Earth and its inhabitants to cease this behavior on a local and global scale. Show us what our part is to help end this and inspire people on a massive and individual scale to continue to pray for peace, Father, for this is our true destiny.
This we pray in the name of Jesus.
“Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy, to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.”
Teach me to remember that you are my help and my shield always. Let me rely on you and not on this world. As we go inward to commune with you, let us feel your holy presence and be soothed by the comfort of the holy spirit. Beginning each day with prayer, we trust that you will guide, guard and protect us and our loved ones throughout the day; that you will align our will with your higher will for us. We also trust that you will light our path, Father, and show us the way you would have us go. Help us to be of service today to the broken and hurting. Let us minister to those who need to hear your word today and to each other, fellow believers who need a word of encouragement. Melt our hearts and mold them into your way, truth and light. Allow us to remain open, flexible and teachable everyday. Grant us your mercy for we desperately need it, Lord.
Bless this planet and all of its inhabitants. Bless the nature kingdom and heal and restore this most glorious Earth you have created, Lord. We trust in your Divine plan, timing and order, Lord. We let go of what we do not understand in this world and simply give it to you, Father. Your way, your truth, your light will not lead us astray. Together we pray for a new dawn, a new beginning and a new chapter to unfold for humanity but Father, you already know what is best for us so we humbly rest in your loving hands and say thank you. Thank you for this gift of life. Thank you for our lessons and thank you for our joys. Thank you for love, compassion and for your glorious son who saves us all. What an amazing Lord you are. We praise and lift your name on high. We just celebrate you everyday for we are lost without you, Lord. So, thank you for loving us first and for continuing to love us no matter what.
In Jesus’ Name we pray,
